Are you interested in helping a fellow Tumblr-ist out? I have a school project due in two weeks, and I will be prohibited from graduating if it isn’t turned in (March 18th). :(

I am a high school student making a video on how homophobia in middle and high schools hurts everyone in the academic setting. It is going to be at least 5 minutes long, and will cover topics such as the Matthew Shepherd incident, school board policies, separation of church and state, the role of an educator, and outside influences, such as the Westboro Baptist Church.

I have a whole bunch of things I was wondering people could read off for me! Quotes and statistics mainly. I have the list of them here in this Google Document.

If you have a personal testimony about how homophobia has made you feel at school, feel free to discuss as long as you like on it!

Three things I will especially need your help with!

1. Record yourself on video reading off the document
2. Upload the video to a location where I can download the file; I highly recommend http://dropbox.com/ but if you don’t want to install anything, http://hotfile.com allows free file hosting with very little hassle and no registration required.
3. Email me the download link back to me at cchausman+BOS[a]gmail.com

THREE TIPS:

• Try to have your video take place somewhere interesting, such as outdoors; a bedroom wall isn’t the most interesting backdrop!
• The higher quality, the better! The video will be rendered at 1280x720 30fps, so get as close to that as you can!
• Read with emotion! People will be far more likely to be engaged with you if the statistics have some inherent meaning behind the person reading them! Add pauses and changes in pitch and volume where you feel fits best.

If I end up planning to use your video segment, I will email you back with more details. If you wish to see the finished video, I will have it on my SmugMug site under a hidden URL and passworded.

I need all my videos by MARCH 12th! If you want to send in the video still, you can, but I will be hard pressed to compile my “mini-documentary”.
