Having a gay-friendly banner on your blog or website can show you’re supportive and welcoming. You can find banners at White Knot, We Give a Damn, and Think Before You Speak. As an Ally, you can print out a safe zone sign and put in on your folders, binders, locker, or at your workplace to let others know that you are accepting.
If you’re gay and comfortable with doing so, come out! As Harvey Milk said: “I cannot prevent anyone from getting angry, or mad, or frustrated. I can only hope that they’ll turn that anger and frustration and madness into something positive, so that two, three, four, five hundred will step forward, so the gay doctors will come out, the gay lawyers, the gay judges, gay bankers, gay architects … I hope that every professional gay will say ‘enough’, come forward and tell everybody, wear a sign, let the world know. Maybe that will help.”
