Mayors Supporting Gay Marriage More Than Tripled Over Past Year
Speaking of morning, what in the world is the nation’s leading manufacturer of breakfast cereals thinking?!
I never thought that by eating Cheerios for breakfast I would be supporting gay marriage. General Mills’ decision to pander to same-sex marriage activists has forced me and my family to choose between their food products and our conscience. As long as food is produced by other companies my conscience is going to win out over the desire for another bowl of Lucky Charms. Until they stop supporting this radical social agenda I must, in good conscience, look for substitutes that I can purchase instead of General Mills’ brands.
Quite frankly, something I find hilarious. Good luck with those boycotts NOM…

TEXAS: State Democrats Add Marriage Equality To Platform
The Dallas Voice reports: A marriage equality plank was added to the Texas Democratic Party’s platform during this weekend’s state convention in Houston. QSanAntonio has the full text of the marriage equality plank:
“Texas Democrats join President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in calling for and affirming equal rights including marriage equality for all Americans. We, along with our President and Vice President, recognize that same sex marriages should be valid and legal in America.
“Texas Democrats support President Obama and the United States Justice Department in recognizing that the Federal Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional and in refusing to defend DOMA in any Federal Court proceeding. We call for the total repeal of DOMA.
“Eight states and the District of Columbia have now recognized marriage equality and have legalized same sex marriages.
“Texas Democrats support the full inclusion of all families in the life of our state, with equal respect, responsibility, and protection under law, including the freedom to marry. Government has no business putting barriers in the path of people seeking to care for their family members, particularly in challenging economic times. We support the repeal of the Federal Defense of Marriage Act, the Texas Defense of Marriage Act and the Texas Constitutional Marriage Amendment and oppose other attempts to deny the freedom to marry to loving same sex couples.”

The other big piece of news from this article is that the Texas Democrats elected a transexual national delegate. So, awesome all around for the Texas Democrats.

Breaking Same-Sex Marriage News of the Day: Maryland today officially became the first East Coast state below the Mason-Dixon line to legalize same-sex marriage.
Governor Martin O’Malley signed the state’s marriage equality bill this afternoon after the Maryland House and Senate passed the legislation on Feb. 17th and 23rd, respectively.
“For a free and diverse people, for people of many faiths, for people committed to the principal of religious freedom,” O’Malley said at the signing ceremony, “the way forward is always found through grater respect for human rights of all, through human dignity for all.”
Same-sex couples won’t be able to get married until January, when the law formally takes effect. Until then, there is still a chance opponents could successfully petition to have the issue placed on November’s ballot. To do so, they would need at least 55,736 valid signature from Maryland voters.
Seven states — CT, IA, MA, NH, NY, VT, WA — and Washington D.C. currently recognize the right of same-sex couples to marry. However, Washington state’s newly signed bill still needs to fend off a the threat of referendum in order to take effect this June.
